Buffalo, NY -- Lost in the shuffle of all the news surrounding head coach Lindy Ruff, one of the Buffalo Sabres' top scorers was not on the ice for Tuesday's practice and won't be available to the team for their next game.
"He did go for a skate [Tuesday] morning," said General Manager Darcy Regier in his address to the media. "There's a possibility he'll go for a skate [Wednesday] morning but he won't play [Wednesday]. But looking down the road, hopefully it's just a few days away."
Vanek is currently suffering from an upper body injury that has taken him out of action since the end of January. The Sabres are up against the Boston Bruins Wednesday night at First Niagara Center.

far too long
This injury garbage has gone on for far too long! Time to make some trades! We should dump Vanek, Pommers, Roy and Pomminville and Miller. In return we need a 30 goal scorer and a new quarterback (preferably manning). We can also throw in a couple billsplayers to even the score.
