Vick Update

Vick's Side of Story, NFL Statement

Michael Vick and the NFL have both issued statements regarding his interview in GQ.  Details released today have revealed that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell "steered" him toward Philadelphia despite interest from the Bills and Bengals.  Here's the latest from Vick and the league.

Vick:

“I felt it was necessary to put out a statement today clarifying the article in GQ Magazine. I did speak with many people, but the decision to sign in Philadelphia was based on my discussions with my agent, my family and with Coach Reid. And after those discussions, it became clear to me that this was the place I wanted to play and resume my NFL career. The Commissioner never told me to sign or not sign with particular teams. Again, I want to make it perfectly clear that this was a decision I made and, as I have said numerous times before, I’m very happy with the way it has worked out for me and my family.”

NFL Spokesman Greg Aiello:
“[Vick’s] decision on where to play to put himself in the best position to succeed was entirely his own. Commissioner Goodell obviously met & spoke to Michael and his reps as part of his decision on whether to reinstate him and on what terms. But the commissioner would never steer players to or away from particular teams and did not do so in this case.”

Bills CEO Russ Brandon said this at practice when asked to comment on the Vick story:
"We were made aware of that today. Michael VIck is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and we don't comment on a player from another organization."

*Editorial note from Jeremy White
- Yes, because these parties have no reason to try to protect this information. The next question is: Did Goodell STEER Vick toward this clarification?

I am shocked !!
I am shocked to read that the league and Vick put out statements the same day denying any possible collusion with his signing in Philly rather than lowly Buffalo or Cinn. I am just shocked I thought it was a real story. All sarcasism aside, are you kidding me ? Really, this did not happen ? I would suggest an investigation but who is going to tell the truth and who is going to investigate it?

Huh?
Then why did you state the exact opposite in the interview? This is BS

Ahhh yes...
..."they misquoted me" fall back. Must be all good now, lets move on. o_O

Awesome
I feel better...funny how athletes are always "misquoted" in articles when these interviews usually take place with more than one person there and a recording device in place...but sure, right, you were misquoted...

The Bills Needed Micheal Vick
All non football stuff aside, Micheal Vick would have been more than a band-aid for the Bills, he would have been the 2nd coming of Doug Flutie.
