The Dallas Stars live to play another day after their 3-1 victory over the Detroit Red Wings Wednesday night in Dallas. The Stars had to do it by killing a 5-on-3 penalty call with thirty seconds left to play in the game, whith booth Mike Modano and Brendan Morrow in the penalty box.
Detroit still leads the best-of-seven series three games to one.
The scoring started at 19:37 in the second period when Stars Forward Loui Eriksson redirected a Stephane Robidas shot from the wall past Chris Osgood. It was Eriksson’s fourth of the playoffs.
Detroit answered quickly to start the third period. Henrik Zetterberg scored his tenth of the playoffs only :49 into the frame. Dallas would have none of it, regaining the lead at 14:25 in the third when Mike Modano scored his fifth goal of the playoffs on the power play. Dallas was 1 for 4 on the power play.
Brendan Morrow iced the game with his ninth goal of the playoffs at 14:34 of the third period.
Marty Turco made 34 saves in the win, his first of the series. Chris Osgood made 22 saves in a losing effort. Game 5 takes place Saturday at 1:30 P.M., which you can hear on WGR Sports Radio 550. |
