College Football Bowl Picks - Week Four
The final week of college football has snuck around the corner and is staring us in the face. How very sad. I told myself I wouldn't get emotional. The sniffling tells me it's too late. Actually, it's just a cold. We're good!

For all of you that have read my columns for the duration of the college football campaign, I thank you. All of your e-mails throughout the year provided great insight
This picks battle is done like dinner.
Schopp + Bulldog Football Picks- Week 18
Mike Schopp is a definite loser.

After dropping 3 games this past week, Mike is now 13 games behind the Bulldog in their grueling picks battle. With only 11 games left in the NFL season there is no way he can take the lead. He can, however make his meal a bit easier to swallow.

BLINK.

When you see the word, it probably strikes you as a reflex...a reaction.  You blink thousands of times a day.  Reading this book will forever change the way that you see that word, and might just change the way you see the world.
Classically-trained: Nick + hockey + Wrigley
An inspiring national anthem and two darn good hockey teams stood out to Nick Mendola in his trip to cover the Winter Classic between Chicago and Detroit at his beloved Wrigley Field.
College Football Picks - Week Three, Part Two
After half of Week 3 has gone by, the only thing I can really say is... sorry Vanderbilt. I really ripped in to you last week, and you made me eat my words. Actually, Boston College's penalties on defense on your go ahead drive made me eat more words. But hey, who's counting.

Half way through the week, my record stands at a half-way decent 17-5, after going 8-2 from
Help Roswell Park out of a tough spot
I received an email in my inbox this morning that really punched me in the face. Roswell Park needs platelets. Now, usually when I read “Roswell Park needs” anything, it’s interesting, but this email was from a long-time friend of mine, and it made clear how important the request is for cancer patients.
The year from my phone... 2008
Last year, I posted a number of pictures taken -- mostly -- from my phone, and got a very good response from you guys, so let's do the dance again! It's 2008... from my phone!
College Football Bowl Picks - Week Three, Part One
Two weeks down, two to go. This week is by far the heaviest of the four, with 19 bowl games in a span of six days. Yikes! So I should probably just get right in to it.

Before I do that, I'd just like to say that bowl season makes me think I know what I'm talking about. I went 6-1 last week, bringing my overall bowl record to 9-3. But obviously, this is the defining week.

The 2009 NFL Draft Order
Ok, so we've made it! The 2008 NFL regular season is over and done with. With the Bills out of the playoffs again, the question on the mind of most Western New Yorkers is where the team will be drafting this April. Well, WGR's Joe Buscaglia took the guess work out of it and calculated the entire draft order just for you.
Immediate Reactions: New England 13, Buffalo 0
My dog summed it best when he slept through almost the entire game, according to my friend Scott. I agree.

Ernie, you've been our dog for just over a week, and you're smarter than me.

Say Goodbye to Brussel Sprouts!

Mike Schopp gained a game on Bulldog in their season long picks battle. So, the lead is now 10 games.

The man who comes out on top at the end of the NFL season gets to chose a variety of disgusting foods for his opponent to eat. The amount of ingredients are equal to the number of games by which that contestants wins the picks bet.

The snow is here, and that means we get to chat about driving, Hot Fuzz, Ghostbusters, Val Kilmer (again), and the fact that all of the Sabres defensemen pretty much wear skirts.
