That comes on the heels of Tuesday's press conference after Roger Goodell met with former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh. The NFL commissioner announced that their investion of the Patriots had reached its end and there would be no additional fines or penalties to the club or coaching staff.
Goodell and Specter did meet privately back in February to discuss the NFL’s destruction of film they received from the Patriots. The initial investigation of the NFL fined Patriots head coach Bill Belichick $500,000 for his role in the incident, the Patriots $250,000, and docked the team their original first-round selection in the 2008 NFL Draft.
In other Spygate news, the Boston Herald printed a retraction and an apology to the Patriots and their fans for publishing the February 2, 2008, story that cited an unnamed source in alleging the Patriots had taped the Rams walkthrough prior to Super Bowl XXXVI.
