(WGR 550) -- Buffalo Bills rookie wide-out James Hardy reportedly pulled a gun on his father during an argument, according to a police report filed Sunday with the football star’s name edited out.
A report in The Journal Gazette, out of Fort Wayne, Ind., said Hardy has a permit to carry a gun, and police say they have no plans to pursue the matter further, since Hardy's father, an ex-con, was not harmed in the incident.
The report said police were called to the scene when a neighbor saw the younger Hardy pull a gun on his father during a backyard argument.
According to the report...
"Hardy was not at the scene when police arrived and was not found by police, the report said.
'I don’t know anything about it, and I can’t comment,' said Eugene Parker, James Hardy’s agent.
When officers spoke to the elder Hardy, he acknowledged that he and his son were in an argument, but said his son did not do anything. The father said the younger Hardy was always angry with him because he was in prison while his son was a boy, the report said.
'Me and my son’s relationship is fine and anything (different) … is not factual. Me and James’ relationship is fine,' he said."
The Bills released this statement:
“We have spoken to law enforcement officials and they have informed us that they looked into this and have no plans to pursue the matter any further. We also spoke to James last night and will continue to speak with him today, but indications are that this matter has been resolved.”
