North Carolina showed everyone why their ranked No. 1, as the Tar Heels destroyed the nine-seeded Arkansas 108-77.
Forward Tyler Hansbrough had 10 rebounds and scored 17 points, while guards Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington combined for 39 points in the Tar Heels’ rout.
The Tar Heels will meet the fourth-seeded Washington State at the Regional Semifinals on March 27th.
Memphis was saved by the buzzer Sunday, as the Tigers squeaked past Mississippi State 77-74.
Joey Dorsey had 13 points, 12 rebounds and a season-high six blocks to move the top-seeded Memphis Tigers into the Sweet 16.
The Tigers will battle Michigan State on March 28th at the Regional semifinals.
Louisville looked like the team to beat Sunday, as they crushed the Oklahoma Sooners 78-48 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Cardinals’ forward Earl Clark scored 14 points, while guard Jerry Smith tallied 12 points in the blowout win.
