(WGR 550)- Sabres winger Ales Kotalik scored two goals including the shootout winner to lead the Czech Republic past Belarus, 3-2 at the World Championships. It was the second day in a row Belarus lost out on a huge upset in a shootout. Buffalo winger Maxim Afingenov helped bring Russia back against them Friday.
Canada clobbered Germany 10-1. Sabres center Derek Roy had a goal and an assist. Carolina's Eric Staal led the way with four goals and an assist.
