(WGR 550) -- The Buffalo Bills are expected to address the wide-out position in next month's NFL draft, and one of the top prospects at that position joined The Howard Simon Show to sell his wares.
Oklahoma junior Malcolm Kelly was one of Thursday morning's guests, and detailed his game.
"Making plays downfield, making plays in traffic, and going up and getting the ball," Kelly said. "If you can go up and get the ball, you have an advantage over the cornerback."
Kelly did that an awful lot for Coach Bob Stoops' Sooners, hauling in 144 catches for 2,285 yards and 21 touchdowns in his three years at Oklahoma. The 6'4", 215-pound wide receiver was impressed by the Bills coaching staff during his visit.
"The coaching staff is really what made the trip," Kelly said. "You could tell Coach Jauron, he was real calm and collected and he wants teachers instead of yellers and screamers on the coaching staff."
The staff administered a test to Kelly on reading and remembering plays, which he said he aced. The coaches also took Kelly and other visiting recruits, including Oklahoma corner Reggie Smith and Michigan State wide-out Devin Thomas, out on the town. Smith was the 2007 Big 12 preseason defensive back of the year, and Thomas, another taller junior receiver, caught 79 balls for 1,200-plus yards and eight scores in addition to running 27 times for 177 yards.
