Dennis Williams Fantasy Football Update!

corey@wgr550.com

Headquarters -- So we jumped the gun, what of it?

If you read my blog post yesterday about the 1st Annual Dennis Williams Fantasy Football League, you may be wondering why it has disappeared. The reason is because Dennis and I jumped the gun. Look, we're making this stuff up as we go along, alright? What do you want for nothing?

If you were looking forward to having a little fun via email, don't despair. We're trying to work out the details, and hopefully in a few weeks we will have a way for all of you to participate.

For now though, a friendly competition has broken out here between the Williams Way and Mike Schopp and The Bulldog.  With that, we would like to announce the 1st Annual WGR Memorial Fantasy Football Fiasco. The four participants will be Mike Schopp, The Bulldog, Dennis Williams, and me. One of these things is not like the other (hint: relevant.)

The league works as such. Each person gets to select a Quarterback, Wide Receiver, Running Back, Tight End, Defense/Special Teams, and Kicker. The points will be accumulated throughout the year and the one with the most points by Week 17 wins.

There are several twists.

1) We redraft our teams every week.
2) You cannot select a player more than once a season.
3) One guy can be owned by more than one player in a week.

So if you pick Tom Brady in Week 2, you can't pick him again for Week 3. But two people can select Tom Brady in Week 2 without a conflict.

The scoring is basic fantasy football, only without subtractions because that's way too confusing.

    * 1 point for 20 passing yards (rounded down)
    * 1 point for 10 rushing yards (rounded down)
    * 1 point for 10 receiving yards (rounded down)
    * 6 points for a touchdown (passing, rushing, or receiving)
    * 1 point for each extra point made
    * 3 points for each field goal made
    * 2 points per turnover gained by defense
    * 1 points per sack by the defense
    * 2 points for a safety by defense
    * 6 points for each touchdown scored by defense
    * 2 points for each blocked kick
