Orchard Park, NY (WGR 550) -- The Bills have re-signed LB Blake Costanzo. He was one of the final cuts this season. Costanzo was activated off the practice squad last year and played in three games. He was an undrafted free agent in 2006 with the Jets.
Costanzo takes the place of Angelo Crowell who was placed on IR yesterday after he elected to have his knee scoped.
Coach Dick Jauron spoke out about the Crowell injury and why the decision was made to end his season.
"It was just a question of what we need now to try to win a football game and also a question of recovery time. And there's just no way to predict that kind of thing. We talked to our medical staff about it and it's not very predictable. We needed the spot."
Safety and Defensive captain Donte Whitner thinks that the defense will be fine without Crowell.
"We have confidence that Keith Ellison is going to do a great job. It's an injury and (Crowell) needs to get healthy. Hopefully we can get him back next year."
Linebacker Paul Posluszny and DL Spencer Johnson were both taking park in individual drills. Posluszny felt good after the workout.
"It was a good Friday practice. It went well. We're excited. We're prepared and we're looking forward to Sunday."
Posluszny said that his ankle was back to normal, stating that he just needed a day off from practice.
