Bills Win Big 34-10

Orchard Park, NY -- The Buffalo Bills came in to the 2008 season with playoff expectations and certainly took a step in the right direction with a 34-10 shellacking of the five-times consecutive NFC West champion Seattle Seahawks.

The two key plays of the game belonged to Bobby April's special teams unit. In the 2nd quarter Roscoe Parrish dipped and juked catapulting himself to a 63 yard return for a touchdown, putting the Bills up 14-0 in the 2nd quarter. Then in the 3rd quarter with Seattle momentum building, Ryan Denney sneakily lined up near the sideline on the field goal unit without any Seahawk taking notice. Brian Moorman took the snap, stood up and hit Denney for a 19-yard touchdown pass putting the Bills up 27-10 in the 3rd quarter.

Trent Edwards did not disappoint completing 19 of 30 passes for 215 yards and a touchdown to tight end Robert Royal. Lee Evans and Edwards built up some chemistry with one another, connecting on four different occasions for 102 yards. Marshawn Lynch also added 76 yards on 18 carries, scoring on a 3rd-and-11 draw play from 21 yards out.

The defense also impressed, bringing down Seattle quarterback Matt Hasselbeck for a sack five different times and allowing the Seahawks to just 85 yards rushing. Upstart cornerback Ashton Youboty lead the team with 8 total tackles, while Terrence McGee pitched in with an interception.

Hasselbeck endured many drops from his receivers on the way to completing just 17 of 41 passes for 190 yards. He did manage to complete a 20-yard touchdown pass to wideout Nate Burleson, coming just a play after Burleson beat the coverage and dropped a potential wide-open touchdown reception.

The 1-0 Bills' next contest is in Jacksonville against the Jaguars.
