On the receiving side, Stevie Johnson led the charge with four catches for 66 yards and a touchdown.  Scott Chandler also made an impact, catching five passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns.

Buffalo got off to a great start when rookie linebacker Kelvin Sheppard recovered Dexter McCluster's fumble right off the opening kickoff.  The Bills took advantage of the great field position, as Ryan Fitzpatrick hooked up with Tight End Scott Chandler for a four-yard touchdown. 7-0 Buffalo.

Bills CB Terrence McGee left the game midway throught the first quarter due to a hamstring injury, and it was announced that he would not return to the game.

The Bills added to their lead late in the first quarter, after Fitzpatrick connected with Stevie Johnson on a 27-yard touchdown.  14-0 Buffalo.

Kansas City woke up in the second quarter, as Matt Cassel threw a 19-yard touchdown to Leonard Pope.  However, the referee ruled the play incomplete due to Pope not having full position of the ball.  This forced the Chiefs to kick a field goal, but Ryan Succop missed a 49-yard attempt. 14-0 Buffalo.

Buffalo increased their lead again, when Rian Lindell nailed a 29-yard field goal.  17-0 Buffalo.

On the next drive, George Wilson forced running back Jamaal Charles to fumble, and Leodis McKelvin recovered the ball to put the Bills' offense in great field position once again.  The result was a 38-yard field goal from Rian Lindell and a Bills 20-0 lead.

The Chiefs finally got on the board late in the second quarter, when Cassel threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Charles.  20-7 Buffalo.

Buffalo was the first to strike in the second half, as Ryan Fitzpatrick connected with Scott Chandler for another touchdown, this time from 11-yards out.  27-7 Bills.

The Bills continued to steam-roll the Chiefs, as Fitzpatrick threw a four-yard TD pass to Donald Jones late in the third quarter.  34-7 Buffalo.

Buffalo continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, as Drayton Florence intercepted Cassel to put the Bills in good scoring position again.  C.J. Spiller finished off the drive with a nine-yard Touchdown run.  41-7 Buffalo.

The Bills would then run the clock out and hold on to the 41-7 blow-out victory.  Buffalo (1-0) will hope to move to 2-0 when they host the Oakland Raiders at Ralph Wilson Stadium next Sunday.

Terrence McGee
The Tim Connolly of the Buffalo Bills, ladies and gentlemen. Bills buy a tight end, he's an immediate contributor. Maybe it would work with an OL?

Can Jackson be a #1 back now....
May as well leave Spiller on the bench....

Impressive
Nice win on the road in KC. Things looked terrible for KC right from the start and it just snow balled from there. Games like this are so hard to gauge the Bills, because Im not sure how bad KC is. Either way, great win by the Red, White and Blue.

Wow!
These guys showed up to play and were good. Chandler played like an All Star. Fitz played well in the Red Zone. Our Corners played well after McGee went out early. We tackled well and apart from a few long running plays that we allowed we played verywell against the run. Kudos to the player and the coaching staff. Great job!. My only concern is that it appeared we are still giving up those long runs too often.

That's why you play the game!
Watching opening day for the 40th straight year it's amazing how a team can come out and just play completely out of the expected! ALthough we are still a few years out when it comes to talent starting with a win just makes the start of the week a pleasant one!

Don't be a zombie to Ralph
He is still the WORST owner in sports! Don't give him your hard earned (or borrowed) money! He'll find a way to ruin anything good Gailey & Nix do.

Happy the Bills won, but why is Terrence McGee still on this team?
I honestly can't remember the last time he actually mattered in a game let alone finished a game.

Johnson 'led the charge'? Chandler had a breakout game with better stats.
